Since its founding in 2014, the Psychoacoustics Lab has provided opportunities for graduate students to engage in cutting-edge research on topics such as speech perception in noise, auditory plasticity, and the effectiveness of hearing devices. The lab’s work bridges basic science and clinical application, with the goal of improving diagnostic tools, rehabilitation strategies, and overall patient outcomes.
In addition to advancing research, the lab emphasizes mentorship and student development. Doctoral students are actively involved in every stage of the research process, from designing studies to presenting findings at national and international conferences. Many of our students have received recognition and funding for their projects, and alumni now hold positions in clinical, academic, and research settings.
