COMMUNITY MEDICAL INSTITUTE LIBRARY:
Community medical institute library is one of the best nursing colleges libraries among other nursing College's library.it was established in 2021. The library is located in the main academic block which is easily accessible for all student at the college. It has a separate room covering a large area. There are 11 computers for students.it is one of the best academic libraries containing 1500 books. The library fulfilling information needs of all the students and faculty members of the college through automated library system by using KOHA.
MISSION:
The CMI Library promotes the mission of the college by serving the curricular information needs of CMI students, faculty and staff, and where possible, the educational needs of the broader community. The library anticipates and strives to use innovations in education and technology and responds to the evolving curriculum. The efforts of Library staff are committed to the ultimate objective of providing the highest possible quality of service.
To these ends, the library selects, acquires, processes, organizes and maintains Library materials appropriate to the academic and cultural interest of this institution. The library facilitates access to information and materials through the provision of a wide variety of services. The library provides an environment conducive to learning by providing study and reading facilities. The library teaches students to find information independently so that they may better perform their tasks.
LIBRARY RULES AND REGULATION:
These rules have been made for the benefit of all library users and co-operation in observing these rules is essential for the common good. Only registered users can avail the facilities of the library. Please read these rules carefully, as ignorance of them is not accepted as an excuse for non-observance.
All library users (regular students, faculty & administrative staff) are expected to observe the following rules while using the library facilities; any violation of these rules will incur appropriate disciplinary action.
Leave your personal belongings such as handbags, briefcases, personal books, notes etc., outside the library entrance on personal responsibility.
Members are supposed to leave the library materials on tables after consulting/reading.
Submit any book or object for inspection, when requested by the library staff.
Do not write, underline or mark any book. Library books are carefully examined on return and the borrower will be held responsible for the damage. In case of severe damage, you’ll have to return a new copy of the book (same print) or pay two times the current price.
Don’t write and scratch the library furniture, in case of irreversible damage, you’ll be fined.
Talking, sleeping, eating, drinking, smoking, and moving the library furniture are strictly prohibited.
Discussions are not allowed in the library.
After reading, leave books on the table or on the book trolley. Please do not shelve the books.
Keep your mobiles off within the library premises.
Do not misbehave with the library staff.
Make sure you have provided correct information while filling your library membership form.
Report about lost books or other materials to the library immediately to avoid fine.
A fine of Rs.3000 would be charged in case of stealing library material.
In case of lost Library Card, please immediately report to the circulation staff so that your membership is temporarily blocked to prevent misuse of the Library Card. Once you get a replacement, please inform circulation staff so that your memberships can be re-activated.
Seek the help of the library staff if you are unable to find your required material.
The users should collect their book return slips and keep them safe. In case of any ambiguity, the return slips are the only proof.
Members are supposed to use their laptops only for academic purpose.
The Librarian is authorized to withdraw library facilities from any member who is found misusing the library material or facilities.
In case of any disciplinary violations, user will be given two warnings. Despite the warnings, if the user repeats the same attitude, Rs.200 would be charged on the first violation and Rs.500 on the second violation. In case of continuation of violations, the issue may be referred to the Library/Disciplinary Committee.
Library membership could be suspended or canceled along with a penalty in the following cases:
Nonpayment of library fine(s)
Theft of library material(s)
Nonpayment of damage fine
None returning of the temporary issued material (newspapers, journals, magazines, dictionaries, encyclopedias, book etc.) within due time
Any kind of disturbance in library
Misconduct with the library staff.

3. Issuance of Library Membership Cards.
4. Books issue and return activities.
5. Books reservation.
6. To check the record of issued books.
7. To check the record of due books.
8. The library Notice Board is available in
the entrance of the library to aware the students from the latest information.
9. Library orientation classes are also
arranged for new students at the University.
10. Internet services are also given to the
library users for their assignments and research work only.
