Handi meat also known as ahuna, handi meat, or batlohi, the dish has its roots in Champaran in Bihar, the place where Satyagraha movement was started. It is believed that this pot dish originated from Ghorasahan situated near the Indo-Nepal border in East Champaran. From there, it made its way to Champaran and now famously know as Champaran Handi Mutton.
