I grew up playing in creeks in Missouri, picking bugs, and constantly being covered in mud. My curiosity and love for the outdoors never faded and serve as the foundation for my career today.  

Every day I have the opportunity to embrace my inner child while learning more about the freshwater ecosystems I love and respect so much. My passion for environmental science not only drives my research, but also my teaching and mentorship.

I've chased water to Fargo, ND, Blacksburg, VA, and now Lawrence, KS! I am grateful continued growth, new adventures, and exciting research in a career that I love!
