The Eighth Workshop New Trends in Quaternions and Octonions - NTQO 2024 is to be held at the University of Minho, Braga, Portugal, on October 11-12, 2024.
The workshop aims to present and discuss recent developments in the field of quaternions and octonions by bringing together scientists from both pure and applied mathematics, physics, scientific computing, engineering, and other applied sciences.
There will be 4 invited lectures by António Machiavelo (University of Porto, Portugal), Daniele Corradetti (University of Algarve, Portugal), Federico Thomas (Institut de Robotica i Informàtica Industrial, Spain) and Kamal Diki (Chapman University · Schmid College of Science& Technology,USA), and short communications. The Spanish and Portuguese Relativity meeting that will take place in Bilbao from 17th till 21st of July of 2023. These Relativity meetings date from 1977 and they are organized on an annual basis by one of the different groups doing research on Relativity and Gravitation in Portugal or Spain. The 2023 meeting will be hosted by the gravity and cosmology group of the University of the Basque Country.

September 30-October 4, 2019 | Seventh International Conference on p-Adic Mathematical Physics and its Applications | p-adics.2019
This Seventh International Conference on p-Adic Mathematical Physics and its Applications (p-adics.2019) will be held in Covilhã, Portugal on September 30 – October 4, 2019. It is organized by the Center for Mathematics and Applications and the Physics Department of the University Beira Interior (UBI).
This conference continues the series of p-adics meetings and is aimed at gathering scientists working in p-adic mathematical physics which unites ultrametric, non-Archimedean analysis and its applications in theoretical physics from string theory to cosmology, biology, information theory and other areas of research. Currently the international journal “p-Adic Numbers, Ultrametric Analysis and Applications” is consolidating the results of research in the domain of p-adic mathematical physics.
The number of participants is expected to be around 60. The Local Organizing Committee aims to provide financial support in the conference organization. A Book of Extended Abstracts will be published just before the beginning of the Conference and distributed during registration to participants. Proceedings containing selected papers based on the presented talks will be published in the international journal “p-Adic Numbers, Ultrametric Analysis and Applications” on the peer-reviewed basis.

The VI Workshop on Computational Data Analysis and Numerical Methods (WCDANM) is going to be held on June 27-29, 2019, in the Department of Mathematics of the University of Beira Interior (UBI), Covilhã, Portugal and it is a unique opportunity to disseminate scientific research related to the areas of Mathematics in general, with particular relevance to the areas of Computational Data Analysis and Numerical Methods in theoretical and/or practical field, using new techniques, giving especial emphasis to applications in Medicine, Biology, Biotechnology, Engineering, Industry, Environmental Sciences, Finance, Insurance, Management and Administration.
The meeting will provide a forum for discussion and debate of ideas with interest to the scientific community in general. With this meeting new scientific collaborations among colleagues, namely new collaborations in Masters and PhD projects are expected. The event is open to the entire scientific community (with or without communication/poster).

The workshop will take place at University of Coimbra, February 15-16, and will count with several invited lectures and short communications.
The meeting is jointly organized by the Centre for Earth and Space Research (CITEUC) and the Centre for Mathematics (CMUC) of the University of Coimbra, the Center for Research & Development in Mathematics and Applications (CIDMA) of University of Aveiro, the Centre of Mathematics and Applications (CMA) of the University of Beira Interior and the Centre of Mathematics (CMAT) of University of Minho.
November 9-10, 2018 | 12th Workshop on Statistics Mathematics and Computation | WSMC12
The workshop will be hosted by the University of Beira Interior in collaboration with CMAUBI-Center of Mathematics and Applications of University of Beira Interior, CEAUL-Center of Statistics and it Applications of University of Lisbon, Universidade Aberta and CIMA-Research Centre for Mathematics and Applications, University of Évora, continuing in the spirit of eleven earlier meetings, this year the workshop returns to Covilhã.
The format for the meeting will include plenary talks, organized sessions, and sessions with contributed talks and posters. The workshop includes keynote presentations by renowned scientists. The workshop will provide an opportunity to learn about the latest statistical, mathematical and computational
methodologies. Another goal of the workshop is to strengthen relationships in the statistical and mathematical community and researchers who apply statistics and mathematics in other fields. Students are encouraged to participate and present their projects to conference attendees.

February 10-11, 2017 | Segundo Encontro de Cosmologia e Gravitação à Beira da Serra da Estrela
UBI will be hosting a two days meeting in Cosmology and Gravitation at the University of Beira Interior to discuss the latest results on the field. The meeting has an extremely informal character. All participants wishing to speak can suggest a topic when they register. This is an excellent opportunity to gather scientists and students of the field based in Portugal. Of course, people based abroad are also welcome.
The meeting will take place at the amphitheatre 6.01 of the Centro de Matemáticas e Aplicações da Universidade da Beira Interior, on the 1st floor of the 6ª fase building.
The conference dinner will take place on Friday night at Taberna a Laranjinha.

The Portuguese Meeting in Biomathematics 2016 will be hosted by the Department of Mathematics of University of Beira Interior on October 13 and 14, 2016.
The objective of this meeting is to join the national researchers interested in biomathematics and at the same time to promote the interaction between mathematicians working on models arising from the area of biology with other researchers working on areas of biology that use mathematics as an important tool in their research.

The Department of Mathematics of University of Beira Interior is pleased to host the 2015 Progress on Difference Equations from June 15 to June 18, 2015.
This meeting, held under the auspicies of the International Society for Difference Equations, aims to be a forum where researchers can share their work and discuss the latest developments in the areas of difference equations, discrete dynamical systems and their applications. This meeting is the nineth edition of PODE meetings and continues in the line of previous workshops held in Laufen (Germany) in 2007 and 2008, Bedlewo (Poland) in 2009, Xanthi (Greece) in 2010, Dublin (Ireland) in 2011, Richmond (USA) in 2012, Bialystok (Poland) in 2013, and Ismir (Turkey) in 2014.
University of Beira Interior (UBI) was founded in 1979 and awards all university academic degrees in several fields. It is located in the city Covilhã, one of the main urban centres of the Beira Interior region, in central Portugal.
Covilhã leans on the slope of Serra da Estrela, the highest mountain range in Continental Portugal, and towers between 450 and 800 metres above the sea level. The region is famous for the soft and gooey cheese that becomes harder as the time goes by. The region has also an interesting gastronomy and wine production.
