In-Person Classes

Held at the Yaskawa America, Inc. Headquarters (HQ) training facility in Waukegan, IL, in-person class size is limited to ensure the most effective learning occurs between the student and the instructor and to follow current COVID protocols.

Live Online Classes

Performed in the Yaskawa virtual training room, live online classes allow students to virtually attend a factory level training class that has traditionally been held in the Yaskawa HQ training facility. No traveling required!

Training schedules are usually the schedule of your trainer. It is almost random. Some of us got a 5am start time, some had 3 am, 12pm, or 2 pm. When we were certified, there was no option. They will place you where they need/want you. The majority of us went to the 5pm-2am shift. You really have to have an open schedule to work on the ramp. I am going to hit the 6-month mark soon and I got lucky and will be working 0830-1700 next month. I have worked all shifts during my 6 months. I really do want to emphasize FLEXIBILITY. It is important.

What TPArampgirl said is true. I have been at SWA for over a year now. I am at smaller station and my training was in the morning from 0430-1300. I had the same days off as my trainer. Once I was released by my trainer I filled in any open shift until the new bid. When that line bid was over, we had a new one month bid and I was on closing shift for 6-7 months since I was the lowest in seniority. Now with a bunch of new hires below me now, I am on mornings and LUVING it. Good luck and if you have any more questions please be sure to ask.

If you don't think a 5K seems possible or you don't think you have enough time or energy, this 5K schedule may help you. It includes several short sessions during the week of only about 30 minutes each. Write when you'll exercise in your calendar, and make a note of when your 5K race is taking place. If you're not comfortable running, you can walk instead! Give it a try and you might just meet your goal and finish a 5K.

If you're only beginning to exercise, make sure you start slowly. Start with a slower pace and exercise for shorter times, such as a few short walks spread throughout the day. Work your way up to moving faster and for longer periods as your body adjusts. Then begin the 5K training schedule once you're able to exercise for 30 minutes at a time.

This 5K training schedule includes a mix of running, walking and resting. This combination helps reduce the risk of injury, stress and fatigue while boosting your enjoyment of physical activity. Remember, you can run or walk slowly to help your body adjust to this 5K training schedule.

Under this 5K run training schedule, you'll spend some of your time walking. For instance, during week one on run/walk days, you'll run for 15 seconds and then walk for 45 seconds, repeating that cycle for 30 minutes.
