My name is Hongyu (Amanda) Yang. I have been teaching Chinese at the American DLI for 13 years, holding a Master's degree in Elementary Education from NAU. Currently, I teach fourth grade at Tarwater Elementary under the Chandler Unified School District. In 2022, I was honored as a nominee for Arizona Teacher of the Year by the Arizona Language Association. In November 2023, I received the Special Contribution Milestone Award, presented by the mayors of Chandler and Gilbert, along with a Counsellor from the Chinese Embassy. Additionally, in 2023, I served as the STEM Equity Ambassador representing ASU MLFTC.
