Kerry Kelly Oster was born in the New York to Irish American parents who cherished their family roots. The oldest of 6 children she quickly became known as “The Boss”. The Kelly Kids were coerced into taking dance lessons because their mom was reliving her childhood through her children’s experiences. Kerry would drive the family car to dance and echoed her mother’s words, “Hush up, we have to go to dancing!” as she raced to get everyone to class on time. There really was no choice in the matter. Of course Mother (Rose Kelly), was right and the family enjoyed the cameraderie of class under the direction of Cathy Spencer Revis. Their Dad, (Ed Kelly) enjoyed the libations while watching his children rack up awards. With their grandmother’s encouragement, the next generation of 24 grandchildren has experienced dance class, even if for some it was only for a few short weeks. Her daughters, nieces, and nephews have achieved regional and world titles.
Kerry opened a class of her own in her small hometown which became a recognized competitive school. Somehow history repeated itself, and Kerry relived her childhood through her 3 daughters’ dancing experiences. Daughters Karyn and Meghan received their TCRG/ADCRG certification, joined the school and expanded locations, helping to increase the student population. The new generational outlook offered a resurgence of fun and exciting experiences, along with achieving new titles.
