The school's district includes Chong-liao Village and Shijia Village. Chong-liao was formerly known as "Zhangliao," with many residents sharing the surname Zhang. Shijia Village, previously called "Shicuo Liao," predominantly has residents with the family name Shi. In the 40th year of the Qianlong era (1775), families with the surnames Zhang and Shi came to Taiwan with Zheng Chenggong. They brought two deities from the Anxi Cheng huang Temple in Fujian to establish a temple in the area, which became one of the earliest Anxi Cheng huang ancestral temples in Taiwan. The main deity worshiped at the Zhongliao Anxi Cheng huang Temple is Cheng huang Ye(City God), who is said to have been a skilled physician in life. He was invited to the palace to treat the Empress Dowager, and in recognition, he was bestowed a dragon robe by the Emperor. He is unique in Taiwan for being the only Cheng huang Ye(City God) depicted in a yellow dragon robe. Each year, during the lunar calendar's fifth month, the celebration of Cheng huang Ye's birthday attracts numerous devotees, turning the temple grounds into a bustling hub. As the saying goes, "On the 28th of May in Zhongliao, the festivities are in full swing."
