Anki 23.10+ supports Image Occlusion cards natively. An ImageOcclusion (IO) note is a special case of cloze deletion based on imagesinstead of text, and allows you to create cards that hide some partsof an image, testing your knowledge of that hidden information.

I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me figure out how to make my cloze deletion cards (that are aligned in the center) still be evenly aligned from the left-center. I have seen this done with just front-back card styles but none with cloze deletion. I would really appreciate the help.

Interestingly, when I added a cloze deletion in the card using Cloze note type, the warning still showed up "Warning, the cloze deletion will not work until you switch the top to Cloze". [2

I guess the issue here is that you added the cloze filter to a normal note type not derived from the Cloze type.

Cloze types are treated specially by Anki and you should only make new cloze types by cloning the existing type.

Anki started to be more strict about such issues recently.

You should be able to fix the issue by making a new cloze type cloned from the base Cloze type from the note types screen, then you can copy the template contents from the old type to the new one and convert your notes to use it.

this card was just updated today, hours ago, have you synced with ankihub as of today? try syncing again and doing the delete card thing again. If all else fails you can unsubscribe from the anking deck from the ankihub addon then resubscribe, that should fix it

Actually, my mistake, it seems like this was a case were this card was recently edited so that where there were clozes 1, 2, and 3 prior, there is now only cloze 1 but 3 separate words. Deleting empty cards seems to be the appropriate solution.

A cloze test (also cloze deletion test or occlusion test) is an exercise, test, or assessment in which a portion of text is masked and the participant is asked to fill in the masked portion of text. Cloze tests require the ability to understand the context and vocabulary in order to identify the correct language or part of speech that belongs in the deleted passages. This exercise is commonly administered for the assessment of native and second language learning and instruction.

Students would then be required to fill in the blanks with words that would best complete the passage. The context in language and content terms is essential in most, if not all, cloze tests. The first blank is preceded by "the"; therefore, a noun, an adjective or an adverb must follow. However, a conjunction follows the blank; the sentence would not be grammatically correct if anything other than a noun were in the blank. The words "milk and eggs" are important for deciding which noun to put in the blank; "supermarket" is a possible answer; depending on the student, however, the first blank could be store, supermarket, shop, shops, market, or grocer while umbrella, brolly or raincoat could fit the second. Glover, 1989 compared different forms of recall and their effectiveness after time passed for forgetting to occur. Glover referred to cloze tests as cued recall, which was found to be less effective than free recall testing (generic cue was given to pupil, the pupil was expected to recall all they knew), but more effective than recognition tests.[8]

It was actually a rookie mistake on my part as I forgot that you need to advance (pressing space bar as I am using a bluetooth keyboard) in order for other cloze deletion to work. Iirc having the same cloze reference number in 2 different {{cloze:text}} fields will show both fields. I discovered this by accident and it was more of an annoyance to me, but it sounds like it might be what op wants.

The clozes does not work as he expected because at the back side only the content where the current cloze is from is shown. So for c1 and c2 the author is never shown. And ofr the c3, the quote line is not shown. That is why I do believe Cloze card type is not meant to support multiple fields with different content.

Anki cloze is just a way of formatting your digital cards in Anki to blank out an important piece of information. This blank then becomes the key part of your recall. The information around it helps you conceptualize (or guide) you to the answer.

When I ask about a cloze deletion plugin/in-built function, I mean to ask; Does there exist a way I can apply cloze deletion to text within a note, just as I can in Anki, so that I may test myself on the content of a note? I imagine a system akin to the following, in which I can apply cloze deletion to particular words, and then reveal the hidden words by clicking on the clozed words. A Massive-Context Clozed Deletion cards (shortened to MCD) is basically a paragraph in the target language cut-and-pasted into a flash card program (like Anki).
