After calling around Fresno trying to get my weed eater and lawn mower fixed, most places wanted an upfront diagnostic fee (around $75 each) just to look at the equipment — and that was before parts and labor. Honestly, that gave me a bad feeling right away.
Then I found Clovis Mower Service, and the experience was completely different.
Daniel gave me clear upfront pricing — $75 for one and $65 for the other — and that price included everything. No guessing, no surprise charges. He even told me that if he couldn’t fix them, I wouldn’t have to pay, which says a lot about his honesty.
In the end, both machines were fully repaired for around $200 total, and the quality of work was outstanding. Daniel went above and beyond:
• Unfroze the wheels on my mower
• Installed a brand-new blade
• Replaced the recoil (pull start)
• Installed a new carburetor on the weed eater
• Added new string
• Cleaned and tuned everything
Both machines looked and ran like new. He started them up in front of me, and when I took them home, they worked perfectly with no issues.
If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Daniel is honest, fair, and clearly knows what he’s doing.
Clovis Mower Service is my go-to from now on, and I highly recommend them.
Thank you again!
These guys are awesome! Not only did they fix my mower/trimmer, but they also detailed it and made it look like new! It was also finished way before I expected! They fixed my stepdad's mower, and he had a great experience as well. Nice people. Highly recommended!
Took a drill w a seized keyless chuck in for him to look at and he got it free after a variety of attempts. But he basically stopped what he was doing, helped me w this random problem that had nothing to do w mowers and did it for free! Who does that? Unbelievable! 10 Thumbs Up!
I have to say this is definitely one of the last few shops like these. The service and quality of work is top notch. Can't go wrong with taking your small engine work to these guys. 2/26 dropped off a small generator and as in the past the work was great!
I recently purchased a pressure washer but encountered difficulty in operating it, given my familiarity with smaller electric models. Seeking assistance, I visited the Clovis Mower under the impression that my new pressure washer was malfunctioning. Upon arrival, I was promptly greeted and queried regarding the issue. The staff adeptly diagnosed the problem as an incorrect starting procedure. They generously dedicated approximately 10 minutes to demonstrating the correct operation and maintenance of the equipment. Rather than suggesting costly repairs or service, they provided invaluable guidance at no charge. Such integrity and professionalism guarantee my continued patronage of your business in the future.
been using Clovis mower service for the last few years to repair my McLane reel mower. They are the best in this town. They always fix the problem and are always quick. I know they are very busy and I honestly thought my repair would take 2 weeks. I was shocked when it was done in 2 days! They are very nice people and i love supporting local owned businesses. I highly recommend them.
Very impressed with the level of service they offer. Was able to get a quote over the phone. Other places had a backlog of 2 - 3 weeks just to get a quote. Took the mower in on a Monday and it was ready for pickup on that Friday. It now runs great and looks newer. They clear and detail the mower as part of the service. When I brought it home I was asked why I bought a new mower?
Highly recommend!😊 The job was finished the same day with a smile and great customer service!! Called for a replacement of new blade on a mower and sharpening of older blade. Even though this is their busy season the owner answered both of my phone calls promptly.
Hidden gem for gas small engine repair. Old school values, honest, quick and reasonably priced. And your mower comes back looking near new! Cash or check only.
I took my riding mower in for service on the drive belt. Not only did they fix the drive they leveled out the deck, changed the oil, re-tuned the engine and cleaned it to sparkling new. Since the day I bought the mower it always had a tough time starting. Now it starts right up and runs perfectly. They really went above and beyond all my expectations. It’s been a long time since I received such great service with an even better outcome. Truly impressed with their work and service!
I had a very pleasant experience today at Clovis Mower Service. I brought my gas lawn edger in for a blade replacement. Daniel explained that he recommends the 4 edge blade over the 2 edge blade because it is made out of much better quality steel like they use to manufacture lawn mower blades. He said it would last much longer than the 2 sided blades and that I would be much happier with it. He only charged me $7 for the blade and installed it for free. Then he started up the edger and listened to the engine for a little bit and he said it was running smooth and strong. He also recommended that I only use mid or premium grade gasoline from Standard or Shell. He said he noticed many more carburetor problems when his customers got regular grade gasoline for Valero, Bad Buds or Costco, etc. He said the cost of the premium gasoline will more than offset the cost of future repair costs. I can’t ask for better customer service than that. I normally don’t give out 5 star ratings for expected good service and prices. I reserve 5 stars for those who go way over and beyond what is expected. Daniel and his shop definitely deserve my 5 star rating. I will definitely be bringing all of my edger, mower and cultivators to him for any service needs in the future.
Our lawn mower was only one year old and stopped working. A neighbor referred us to Clovis Mower Service and we were very impressed. They repaired it very quickly and also serviced it and replaced some parts. The repairs were very reasonably priced and the mower is now working like new
I was looking around town to have my mower serviced and came upon this business. I read the reviews and ended up taking my mower to them for complete service. I'm very impressed with the owner Daniel, he definitely takes care of his customers and provides excellent customer experience. I would highly recommend him if anyone is looking for a place to have service done.
The 'best' shop in valley and very reasonable pricing! I've been taking my yard care equipment to them for 30+ years. Highly recommend you give them a try!
I like their honesty and pricing. I took a mower in there knowing more less the problem. I just didn't have time to deal with it. Considering today's work schedule. They were able to confirm the problem and charged me a very reasonable price to fix it...I would recommend them in the future for their services to anyone in need of it....thank you. 5 ✨ from me....
This small business is absolutely exceptional in every way, if only all businesses could operate like this. Their customer service is incredible and I am convinced because of this they get many many return customers and referrals.
Thanks for helping me fix my weed eater today, you guys are best!
Took a chain saw in , needed it in a hurry for a job helping a family out . needed it in 3 days.
got a call the next afternoon saying the saw was ready to go! early and under budget !
Nice folks, fair prices .
Tuned up my mower but more importantly, they got my tiller working again. Having moved from CO, it was running ragged. Within a few days, both were smoothly running, and the bill was quite affordable.
Have taken my lawn equipment to Daniel for years, always excellent work and really reasonable prices whether routine maintenance or repair of broken items from yard shears to chain saws to edges to mowers. Thanks Daniel for all you do!
Small is beautiful! This business is friendly, helpful, capable and priced right. I rely on them to keep my mower and edger going. I highly recommend them.
The best place to have your equipment serviced! I used to take all of my yard tools here.him and his brother that owned the the shop on west shaw Ave in fresno have been doing this for decades!
I've been taking my mowers to Clovis Mower service about 10 years. The top-notch no-nonsense mechanics there kept my old Sears Craftsman mower alive until it threw a rod, or piston. I didn't take it apart to look. But the little engine was dead. So I bought a Troy Bilt at Lowe's. Then it started running rough by the second year. Carb problems, something that would plague me. Turns out when gas ages, it starts to break down. We don't use the fuel fast enough and a shellac layer settles out. This may be due to the ethanol in fuel. Whatever. It's nasty. I use a stabilizer, which seems only to prolong the problems if you continue to use your fuel too slowly. Clovis Mower gives the lecture. Use fresh gas. Go to Shell or Chevron, a station with a lower percentage in the fuel. This lastest trip came about a year, maybe longer than the second. I bring in the mower. I have a large lawn, mostly a semi wild back 40. And I put the mower through its paces. But they fix it. Charged me $85 even though they added a new shut-off cable. Sharpened the blade. Cleaned the carb. Cleaned it up. Made it run like new. And I figure it's got another year. Maybe more if I use supreme and be careful about using crappy gas. Clovis mower has also kept my 029 Stihl chainsaw going and I really beat the hell out of that. I've had it since the mid 1990s when we heated with wood on Camano Island, Wash. It's been well used.
