At 10 years old, my dad took me on my first airplane. Back in the days of warm meals in coach class, I ate quiche for my first time. The food was rubbery, however the experience shaped my love for travel.

I fell in love with flying. I had always loved experiencing new things, and this mode of transportation could take me anywhere. From that first flight, I knew I would always travel. In high school I studied travel and tourism becoming a travel agent at 17. My first boss, Gypsy, taught me a respect and love for the industry. At 19, I was accompanying business groups on conferences and went on my first Disney cruise. This was the life. Hawaii, Florida, Mexico, California, Las Vegas, New York, Boston, San Francisco, Bahamas, L.A., Denver, Kalispel, Seattle, New Jersey, Chicago, and more in just a few short years.

In my mid twenties I started traveling with my father to conferences. It was in those years, I realized how inspired I would get on flights. Reading, writing, and creating optimism in business or discussing new opportunities. Flying among the clouds made me feel alive.

I thank my dad for the gift of travel. Traveling inspired me to dream bigger. Today my dreams continue to get bigger and one day I will return the gift to my parents with an incredible cloud surfing adventure.

Traveling has been a huge part of my life, and will continue to be so. I joke that my office should be in an airplane, and perhaps I will start a new co-working net jets type of company for people like me to converse and create at thirty thousand feet.

To really showcase the movement of the design, I opted to use the templates to plot out different curved quilting designs. I split the quilt into 3 different quadrants to highlight the clouds and help the eye move across the quilt. It was so much fun!

I also love that I got to collaborate with Art Gallery Fabrics on the colorway. The theme was all retro surfing/ Hawaii vacation vibes. I took that to another level by featuring the Laki Island Daylight print on the back. I love how the florals add a fun whimsical touch to the modern abstract design on the front.

Some days you just have to escape the endless dishes at your mother's inn and take your Solar Surfer out for a spin in the clouds. Aqua skies against the deep blackness of space will hopefully being your wildest dreams to fulfillment.

This is what Adrian Andler sees and feels when he is flying in the clouds and he was kind enough to share it. He has also included the audio of Cloud Appreciation Society founder, Gavin Pretor-Pinney, reading an excerpt from our cloud manifesto.

I have found music to be something that calms, restores, brings perspective and also unites. In a way, this is my chance to give back - when I was learning classical violin and piano as a teenager, after my Saturday morning lessons were finished at West Sussex Music Centre, I was allowed to spend time in the "electronic music room", getting to grips with now-rare 70s synths. Later in life, I loved reawakening my musical creativity, but what has made this time so special has been working with brilliant young people and making this album as a shared piece of art.

This track is a wider collaboration - alongside bass by Helena and violin by Eliza, recorded by Katie May at Real World Studios, we are joined again by ace session drummer and percussion teacher Dan Neale, recorded by Ed Graves at Rainbow Wood Studios in Bath.

I wrote this track during that time in the lockdown years when we spent a lot of time isolated at home. I was very grateful for my home studio setup, where I could go and compose, and try and piece ideas together into tracks that could ebb and flow and contain emotion. In the back of my mind I was still thinking of those beautiful empty plains of the far north - somewhere you have space to think.

When I first set up my home studio and started to learn Logic Pro, this was the first track I composed, played and produced - hence it became the title track of this album. I was inspired by long flights to and from New York and San Francisco, gazing out of the window above the clouds, looking out for gaps where I could try and figure out where we were from glimpses of the ground, and at night looking out for the faint hint of Northern Lights.

When people hear "the Cloud," they think of cloud computing, just a sliver of what the Cloud is today. The Cloud has grown: it represents the consummate disruptor to structure; a pervasive social and economic network that will soon connect and define more of the world than any other political, social, or economic organization. The Cloud is the first megatrend of the twenty-first century, one that will shape the way we will address virtually every challenge we face for at least the next 100 years. It is where we will all live, work, and play in the coming decades. The Cloud is ?where your kids go to dive into online play. It's where you meet and make friends in social networks. It's where companies find the next big idea. It's where political campaigns are won and lost. Cloud Surfing is the groundbreaking book that will explain how to access the full value of the Cloud and how to embrace its possibilities. 152ee80cbc
