Trezor.io/start — Start Your Trezor Device Securely
Getting started with a Trezor hardware wallet is designed to be simple, secure, and easy to follow. Trezor.io/start is the official starting point for setting up your Trezor device and connecting it with Trezor Suite. Whether you are using a new Trezor Safe device or another supported Trezor hardware wallet, the setup process guides you through the essential steps needed to begin managing your digital assets.
Begin by visiting Trezor.io/start through your browser. The official Trezor setup page provides access to Trezor Suite, the software interface used to connect your hardware wallet and manage your crypto. Trezor recommends using the desktop application for the best experience, while supported users can also continue through the web application.
Before proceeding, make sure you are using the official Trezor website. Avoid downloading wallet software from advertisements, unofficial websites, or unknown links. Using the correct source is an important part of maintaining the security of your wallet.
After opening Trezor.io/start, download Trezor Suite for your supported computer or choose the available browser option. Install the application and launch it when the installation is complete.
Trezor Suite provides the interface for connecting your hardware wallet, checking your device, installing firmware, creating or recovering a wallet, and managing supported crypto assets.
Connect your Trezor to your computer or supported mobile device using the appropriate cable or connection method. Trezor Suite will recognize the device and guide you through the initial security checks.
Depending on your Trezor model, you may be asked to verify the device and its packaging. Current Trezor setup guides also explain that many devices ship without firmware, allowing the firmware installation to take place during the initial setup.
Follow the instructions shown in Trezor Suite to install the appropriate firmware. Do not disconnect the device while the firmware installation is taking place.
Once firmware installation is complete, you can create a new wallet or recover an existing wallet when appropriate. During a new-wallet setup, Trezor will guide you through creating your wallet backup. This backup is extremely important because it can be required to restore access to your wallet.
Write the backup words down carefully and keep them private. Never share your wallet backup with another person or enter it into an unknown website or application.
After completing the backup and security steps, your Trezor is ready to use. You can open Trezor Suite to view your accounts, receive supported assets, send transactions, and manage your portfolio.
For the safest setup experience, always begin with the official Trezor.io/start page and follow the instructions displayed by Trezor Suite. Taking a few extra moments to verify the website, device, firmware, and wallet backup can help establish a strong foundation for secure crypto self-custody.
