Pronounced "Cactus Aviation"
Welcome to my website! You can call me AWEviation ("Cactus Aviation"). I am a rookie VATSIMmer from Massachusetts and I enjoy aviation as a hobby. This website was created as an alternative to the popular virtual flight tracking application, Volanta, where I can keep tabs on my flights in a way that is easier to share with others. I fly virtually as US Airways because it had a name for itself in the American Aviation industry and continues to have a place in the hearts of many nostalgic enthusiasts. I use the Flight Factor A320 Ultimate and its study-level features to learn what I can about the Airbus A320-200 while continuing to be a young adult with school and responsibilities in addition to my hobbies.
I encourage you to look into this website as much as you want! You probably see the various options in the header. You can find the primary function of this website, my flight log, briefly read about how I got into aviation and my flight simulation background, see my (not often used) news and updates, see the fleet of Airbus A320 I have in my simulator, or view my self-made in-flight entertainment system that I put on the background when I reach cruise altitudes during flight and do not have any workload. The Electronic Flight Bag is an experimental feature I am trying to have all the apps necessary to have a productive flight on VATSIM in one centralized location.
I would also love to show you a post-exam research project I did for my AP United States history class. Navigate to the bottom of my About page or click here to see the video I scripted, recorded, and edited on my own (I got a 98% on it, –2% only because the video was 25 minutes long when it should have been half the length, but I made sure the content was perfect!).
I preferably fly around the US East coast, and an increased focus on flying in and out of New England airports, famously such as Boston, Bradley, Worcester, and Providence. However, I enjoy flying across all American cities, bringing the New England spirit wherever I go. The base of most of my virtual flight operations is Boston's General Edward Logan.
You can keep up to date on my progress in the link to my Volanta profile if you have an account there. Otherwise, you can find my flight logs with the button below or click "Flights" in the header. This is the best option to keep up with my flights, as I do not have a flight schedule planned out for the long term. While I would like to have a spreadsheet listed to see my future plans on where I want to fly to, I have school and responsibilities that unfortunately makes free time less expectable and time for flying more whimsical, if I may call it that, so I only fly when I have the chance to.
