What Close Linker does
Close Linker is an Android app for local, consent-based file swapping between nearby users.
Two nearby users can open the app, connect, accept a connection, and exchange files. Close Linker is designed for direct local sharing between users, not for public posting or cloud storage.
Data Close Linker does not collect
Close Linker does not require users to create an account.
Close Linker does not collect names, passwords, contact lists, payment details, or account login information.
Close Linker does not operate a social media feed or public file-hosting service.
Close Linker does not intentionally upload your shared files to a Nightjar Apps server.
Files you choose to share
Close Linker may access files that you choose to add to the app’s file pipeline.
When you swap with another nearby user, the app may send the selected pipeline file from your device to the other user’s device, and may receive a file from the other user’s device.
Files received through Close Linker may remain on your device until you delete, open, export, or manage them yourself.
You are responsible for the files you choose to send, receive, open, export, or share afterward.
Local storage
Close Linker may store app files locally on your device, including pipeline files, received files, app settings, and basic status information needed for the app to work.
This information is stored on your device and is used to provide the app’s file-swapping features.
Permissions used by the app
Close Linker may request Android permissions or settings access needed for nearby file sharing and app operation. Depending on the version of Android and the device, these may include permissions related to:
nearby devices
Bluetooth or device discovery
notifications
files or media selected by the user
keeping the app reliable during transfers
opening Android settings screens for battery or app permission configuration
These permissions are used to support local discovery, connection, file swapping, notifications, and troubleshooting.
Nearby connections and device communication
Close Linker uses nearby-device communication features to discover, connect, and swap files between nearby Android devices.
During a swap, files are transferred between the participating devices. The other user receives the file you choose to share through the app’s pipeline.
Nightjar Apps does not run a public server for storing or publishing these swapped files.
Debug emails and feedback
Close Linker may include a debug email or feedback feature.
If you choose to send a debug email, your email app may send information to Nightjar Apps. This may include diagnostic logs, app status information, device model, Android version, app version, timestamps, connection status, error messages, and file names or file sizes needed to understand a problem.
Do not send debug emails if you do not want this information shared with Nightjar Apps.
Please avoid sending private, sensitive, illegal, or confidential files in feedback or debug emails.
How information is used
Information voluntarily sent through feedback or debug email is used to:
diagnose app problems
improve app reliability
understand testing issues
respond to support requests
improve the user experience
Sharing with third parties
Nightjar Apps does not sell user data.
Advertising is provided through Google AdMob,
which may collect and use certain device and app information as described in the Advertising section below.
If you send feedback or debug information by email, that communication may be processed by your email provider and received by Nightjar Apps.
Files swapped through Close Linker are shared with the nearby user you choose to connect and swap with.
Advertising
Close Linker uses Google AdMob to show ads.
AdMob may collect and use information from your device to provide, measure, and improve advertising. This may include information such as device identifiers, IP address, app interaction information, diagnostics, and advertising-related data.
Ads may be personalized or non-personalized depending on your device settings, region, and consent choices.
Close Linker does not control the ads shown by Google AdMob. You can learn more about how Google uses information from apps that use its services by visiting Google’s privacy and advertising information pages.
Data retention and deletion
Files stored inside Close Linker remain on your device until you delete them, export them, uninstall the app, or otherwise manage them using the app or Android system tools.
Debug emails or support messages voluntarily sent to Nightjar Apps may be kept for as long as needed to investigate issues, improve the app, maintain records of testing, or respond to follow-up messages.
You may request deletion of support emails or diagnostic information you previously sent by contacting:
shutterbunny95@gmail.com
Security
Close Linker is designed for local, consent-based file swapping. However, no app can guarantee that a file will remain private after it has been sent to another person or stored on a device.
A recipient may open, copy, export, back up, delete, rename, or re-share a received file.
Other apps, device backups, device management tools, or phone settings may also affect files stored on a device.
Only share files you are comfortable giving to the other person.
Children
Close Linker is not specifically designed for children.
Users should only use the app if they are old enough to understand local file sharing and are allowed to install and use the app under their local rules and device/account settings.
International use and travel
Files stored on your phone may be subject to local laws, device rules, workplace or school policies, and border or travel checks.
Before travelling or crossing borders, check what files are stored on your device and remove anything you do not want to carry.
Close Linker does not hide, protect, or erase files after they are received.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time as Close Linker changes.
If the policy changes, the updated version should be made available at the same privacy policy URL or another public URL provided in the app listing.
