I am a Professor of Economics and Deputy Head of Research at the National Center for Housing Market Research (HousingLab) at Oslo Metropolitan University, a Senior Researcher at the Chair of Energy and Public Economics at the ETH Zürich, a Research Affiliate at Statistics Norway, and an Affiliate Member of the Center for Economic Studies (CES Ifo).
I received my PhD from the University of California, Davis in Environmental and Resource Economics. I am an environmental and applied economist whose research explores themes at the nexus of energy markets, climate adaptation, and housing markets. My work spans environmental economics, labor economics, real estate economics, and household finance. Methodologically, my expertise includes field experiments, causal inference methods, and applied econometrics. I am particularly interested in research projects where rigorous empirical analysis informs real-world policy decisions. Before working at Oslo Metropolitan University's Housing Lab and at the ETH Zürich, I held positions at the University of Oslo and Michigan State University.
