CleanRoute: File Cleaner ("CleanRoute", "we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is processed when you use the CleanRoute mobile application and related services (collectively, the "App").
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. You can manage many permissions at any time through your Android device settings.
1. Who We Are
CleanRoute provides Android storage cleanup and device utility tools. Unless a third-party service processes information under its own policy, CleanRoute is responsible for the information processed in connection with the App.
2. Information We Process
We process information only as needed to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the App. The App is designed around local cleanup actions and user-confirmed file or app management.
2.1 Information Processed for App Functions
When you use CleanRoute features, the App may process information on your device, including:
- removable cache and temporary data information
- file names, paths, sizes, types, and modification dates needed for storage review
- saved screenshot information needed for screenshot cleanup
- installed app information needed for app management
- network activity information shown through the App or foreground notification
- cleanup selections and confirmation actions made by the user
This information is used to display cleanup candidates, help you manage storage, and complete actions that you choose to confirm.
2.2 Local Files and Storage Access
CleanRoute may request storage-related access, including broad file access where permitted by Android and Google Play policy, to scan storage locations for removable cache, residual files, large files, screenshots, and other cleanup candidates. This access is used only for storage cleanup and file management functions.
The App does not upload your personal files, screenshots, or local file contents to external servers as part of its core cleanup flow. File scanning, classification, and cleanup review are performed locally on your device.
2.3 App Management Information
CleanRoute may process installed app information, such as app name, package identifier, storage usage, or related metadata, to help you review installed apps and decide whether to uninstall an app. App uninstallation is completed only through user-confirmed actions.
2.4 Network Activity Information
CleanRoute may display network activity information to help you understand recent or current data activity on your device. When foreground service features are active, network activity information may be shown in a visible notification. This function is intended for user-facing utility display and is not used to identify the contents of your communications.
2.5 Foreground Service and Notifications
The App may use a visible foreground service notification to keep certain utility functions available, such as network activity display and quick access to cleanup tools. This notification remains visible while the service is active and can be controlled by the user according to Android system behavior.
2.6 Technical, Diagnostic, and Usage Information
We may collect limited technical information to operate and improve the App, such as:
- device model and Android version
- app version and installation information
- crash logs and diagnostic events
- performance information
- general usage analytics, such as feature opens or error states
We use this information to maintain stability, fix bugs, understand general usage, and improve the App. We do not use diagnostic data to upload or externally profile your personal local files.
3. How We Use Information
We use processed information to:
- provide cache cleanup, large file management, screenshot cleanup, app management, and network activity features
- display storage-related and network-related information requested by the user
- complete cleanup, deletion, or uninstallation actions only after user confirmation
- maintain App stability, troubleshoot crashes, and improve usability
- protect the App from misuse, abuse, fraud, or technical issues
- comply with applicable laws, platform rules, and policy requirements
4. User Control Over Cleanup
CleanRoute is designed so that file removal and app uninstallation are user-controlled. The App may display items that appear removable or space-consuming, but you are responsible for reviewing them before confirming deletion or uninstallation. Important files should be backed up before removal.
5. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited information only in the following situations:
- with service providers that help us operate analytics, crash reporting, hosting, customer support, advertising, or similar services
- when required by law, regulation, legal process, court order, or valid governmental request
- to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the App, or the public
- in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of business assets, subject to applicable legal protections
Third-party service providers may process technical or diagnostic information under their own privacy policies.
6. Third-Party Services
The App may include third-party SDKs or services for analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or platform operations. These services may collect limited device, usage, or diagnostic information according to their own policies. You should review the policies of relevant third-party services where applicable.
7. Data Retention
Local files remain on your device unless you choose to delete them. We retain technical and diagnostic information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the App, improve services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You can control many data and permission choices through your device settings, including storage access, notification settings, and other permissions where available. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain data processing, or to withdraw consent where consent is used as the legal basis.
