GiT, a 4 piece band from London whose live show has been described as a ‘disturbing theatre’ of sound, and ‘a musical car crash that will make you feel you really should move on but yet compels you to stop and listen and see if there are any survivors’.
Three of them met at army training college in Hereford, the drummer came later at a bondage workshop. Initially based in Nottingham, they gigged hard whilst setting up ‘Beyond Convenience’, their loss-making handyman business.
Then to London where commercial success eluded them but enabled a chance meeting with their now legendary manager Clive Meakins on the dance floor of the Ace of Spades in Battersea. Clive got them a Myspace account and some business cards from a service station on the north circular, and advanced them money to record their first EP ‘Istanbul’. Money he never got back.
