This policy explains how ClipDeck for Mac, iPhone and iPad handles your information. In short: your folders and cards belong to you. ClipDeck doesn’t collect them, and we can’t see them.
None. ClipDeck does not collect, sell or share personal data. It has no ClipDeck account or sign-in, and it uses no analytics, advertising or third-party tracking.
The folders, cards and smart folders you create – including their text, tags and colours – are stored on your device.
If you’re signed in to iCloud, ClipDeck also stores them in your own private iCloud database (using Apple’s CloudKit) so they stay in sync across your Mac, iPhone and iPad signed in to the same Apple Account. This data is held by Apple under your Apple Account and is covered by Apple’s privacy policy. It’s private to you – we (the developer) have no access to it.
You can stop ClipDeck syncing by turning off iCloud for the app in your device’s iCloud settings. You can see and manage the iCloud storage ClipDeck uses in your iCloud storage settings.
These features all work on your device:
Widgets and Control Centre: to show your cards, ClipDeck keeps a copy of the cards a widget or control needs on your device, where only ClipDeck and its widgets can read it. Locked cards never appear in widgets.
Spotlight: ClipDeck adds each card’s title, tags and folder name to your device’s Spotlight index so you can search for it. The text inside your cards is not added.
Shortcuts and Siri: ClipDeck makes your card and folder names available to the Shortcuts app and Siri on your device, so you can copy a card or open a folder by name.
When you unlock a card with Touch ID or Face ID, the check is done by Apple’s system on your device. ClipDeck never sees or stores your fingerprint, face or passcode.
ClipDeck places text on your clipboard only when you choose to copy a card. It does not read your clipboard.
If you choose to import or export a CSV file on your Mac, ClipDeck reads or writes only the file you select.
When you delete a card or folder, its cards move to Recently Deleted, where they stay for 30 days so you can recover them. After that – or straight away if you choose Delete Now or Delete All – they’re removed from your device and, if you use iCloud, from your other devices too. Deleting the app removes the copy stored on that device; any data in iCloud can be managed from your iCloud storage settings.
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
