This privacy policy explains how Develoepr Rubel ("we", "us") and the Clipboard Manager: Copy History Android app ("the app", also referred to as "Clipboard Manager" below) handle your information.
In short: the app is offline-first. Your clipboard contents stay on your device. The app collects nothing itself, and your clipboard data is never uploaded, shared, or used for advertising.
Clipboard Manager reads your clipboard only when you explicitly ask it to: when you open the app and tap "Paste Clipboard", when you use the paste icon in an editor, or when you save a clip manually. Modern Android restricts background clipboard access, and the app respects that. The app:
never monitors your clipboard,
never runs in the background to read it,
never uses accessibility services, overlays, or other bypasses,
does not require root access.
The optional Quick Settings tile ("Save Clipboard") acts only on an explicit tap by you. On Android 10 and newer, the operating system blocks clipboard reads from background components, so the tile explains the limitation and points you to the in-app paste flow instead. It never polls the clipboard.
All clipboard items, notes, categories, snippets and settings are stored in a private database on your device (Room/SQLite). Nothing in that database is uploaded to the internet. Your data is not included in Android cloud/device backups (android:allowBackup="false").
The app itself collects no personal data. We do not operate accounts, logins, analytics, crash reporting, Firebase, or a backend server.
The only online component is Google AdMob, the advertising SDK used to display ads. When ads are shown, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and share standard advertising data, including:
Device or other IDs — the advertising ID (you can reset or opt out of personalized ads in your device settings),
App interactions — standard, ephemeral ad-serving interaction data.
This data is processed by Google under Google's privacy policy and is used for advertising or marketing. Clipboard contents are never sent to advertising systems.
The app requests only what it genuinely needs:
Camera — used only by the optional QR scanner, and requested at runtime only when you open that screen. Devices without a camera can still install and use the app.
Storage (Android 8.0–9, API 26–28 only) — used only when you save a generated QR image to your gallery. On Android 10+ the app uses MediaStore and needs no permission.
Internet / Network state — required by Google AdMob, the app's only online component. All other features work fully offline.
No permission is used to monitor your clipboard.
Backup and export features write files only where you choose — your device or a location you pick with the system file picker. Backups may contain private clipboard information. They are never uploaded; store them securely and do not share them.
You can delete your data at any time, entirely within the app:
delete individual clips (item menu or bulk delete),
Clear Clipboard History (Settings and the Clipboard toolbar, always confirmed),
Clear Usage History (Settings),
delete categories, snippets, and local backups.
Uninstalling the app permanently removes all locally stored data. There are no user accounts, so there is no account-deletion flow.
The app is free and supported by Google AdMob ads (banners, in-feed native ads, and occasional interstitials after completed actions). Ads never block or delay any clipboard operation, and they never receive your clipboard contents.
Google may use the advertising ID to serve personalized ads. You can disable personalized advertising at any time:
Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads → Delete advertising ID / opt out of personalization,
or via Google's ad settings at https://adssettings.google.com.
The app is a general-purpose productivity tool. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because no data is collected or uploaded by the app, there is nothing to collect from any user, including children.
All network traffic is handled by the Google Mobile Ads SDK over HTTPS. All other data remains on your device and never leaves it. You are responsible for protecting your device and any backup files you create.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. If we make significant changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you within the app.
