Who we are
The Clinton County, Indiana Fairgrounds are located on the south side of the center township of Frankfort. The grounds and facilities are county-owned property and are managed by county-appointed employees and a county-appointed volunteer board. These dedicated individuals give their time outside of regular jobs and lives to keep the facilities open for the community.
While the annual fair is the main attraction, the grounds and facilities are available for events, festivals, personal parties, corporate trainings/ events, and more.
The Council meets at least once a month in the Boardroom at the Edward Jones Community 4-H Building. These meetings are open to the public. Community members are welcome to attend if you have any concerns or suggestions for improvement.

A Little History
The first Frankfort Fair was held in October of 1853 on property owned by Mr. Isaac Armstrong and located at what now is 600 South Main Street. This fair was held on the same date as the traveling Indiana State Fair, held in Lafayette, IN. In 1872 and following the Civil War the county attempted to purchase the present location at 1701 South Jackson Street, Frankfort. However, at that time, state laws prohibited counties from making such a purchase. So, a local Indian State Senator went to Indianapolis and got a bill passed that permitted Clinton County to complete the purchase. 150 years later, the fairgrounds continue to host the county fair and other private and community events at 1701 S. Jackson St. Frankfort, IN.
