The Municipality of Prosotsani is located west of Drama which is the capital of the namesake Regional District of Drama. Prosotsani has a total area of 482.77 square kilometers and its population amounts to 13.066 inhabitants, according to the census of 2011. The seat of the municipality is the namesake small town of Prosotsani.

Mountain meadows, wild horses, rare wildflowers, wild and steep cliffs of unique beauty, canyons, ruins of ancient temples, Byzantine castles and churches make up a rare set of beauty.
