Climate and Ice sheet Dynamics Lab

University of the Ryukyus

Dr Sam Sherriff-Tadano

I’m a climate ice-sheet modeller interested in understanding interactions among ice sheets, atmosphere and oceans. As part of my PhD, I investigated the effects of continental ice sheets on the atmospheric and oceanic circulation using a comprehensive climate model. I also explored driving mechanisms of millennial scale climate and oceanic circulation variability focusing on the role of sea ice. In the University of Leeds, I performed ensemble simulations of ice sheet-climate coupled systems to explore effects of uncertain parameters on the performance of the ice sheet configuration. At Univerisity of the Ryukyus, I'll be focusing on the sea surface temperature variability over the Northwestern subtropical Pacific from the past to the future.
