ClimART 2.0 aims to strengthen the intellectual achievements of the previous ClimART project,ย
which aimed at developing, transferring and applying innovative methodologiesย
for learning about climate change through Art and Theatre.ย
It integrates scientific knowledge related to the climate change with the aim of helping teachers in the acquisition of knowledge about climate change and to stimulate the interest and curiosity of the students and improve their awareness on current environmental issues. It includes resources to further explore the climate change topic and some tips to eliminate barriers and fears about approaching this subject and how to get more teachers interested in the subject.ย

Art represents an innovative and efficient way to transfer climate change issue. This manual is focused in artistic knowledge with the aim of helping teachers in the acquisition of knowledge about techniques, methods and technologies to improve the knowledge of teachers and transfer to them the big potential of art.ย

This manual propose methodological guidelines for a course, to be implemented in secondary education institutions and whose aim is to learn to create a theatrical performance on climate change, through its performance. It aims to provide flexible and, as far as possible, inspiring guidelines for anyone who is driven to work on climate change through theatre or, if preferred, work the theater through the problem of climate change.

This toolkit is a guide for those teachers who are ready to give students a chance to be engaged, following unconventional ways, through art, drama, creative activities that help elicit emotional responses, critical thinking, and passion for action. Students wonโt be told a story, they will be part of the story as main actors, and they will understand they can change its ending.
