But really, you probably don't need it in the GAC if you need it in the product directory. If it's being loaded from any program anywhere, always, then the GAC is a decent place for it. If you're putting it in the GAC For COM interop, that's unnecessary; registering it by pointing it to the folder that you've installed it will work fine if you have installshield configured correctly.
I have an installshield installer for my application. Now I create a minor upgrade for the application and some of the files in some of my components are changed. Unfortunately after the minor upgrade the files are not replaced but are left with their old contents. These are text files so it is very easy to verify that. I have also explicitly checked always overwrite in the properties for each of the files I try to overwrite during the upgrade.

I'm working on a basic MSI installshield project in installshield 2016. I've an edit field and text area on my wizard step. The text area is actually an error label. Visible property of the text area control is initially set to false.
Is there a possibility to add directory (with sub directories) to SupportFiles section in installshield. I have dynamically created content (list of files changes constantly) that I use to support my installation.
I realized that since I had reinstalled VS2013 on a newly imaged computer that now I am unable to add installshield. Or best I can comprehend from the documentation I would minimally need to pay $800 for the lowest version of installshield to use.
Is there another tool available or suggested for people who are not selling software commercially and to whom it is impractical to manually install a program to the half dozen people who might be using it? I talking about simple installs that work in the same way as the original installshield kit. 3df8ca78c1
