I'm not familiar enough with mDNS records aging, and how they are renewed. Should these devices not advertise their services again once mDNS cache record times out? I've packet captured the wireless client side and I see the mDNS service discovery messages when the client connects, but I don't see replies coming back from the AP. None of the documentation I've scoured mentions any specific role settings to allow this type of traffic. It all looks pretty straightforward.

It sounds like the basestations do not continue to advertise their service(s) when they do not see mDNS queries, and since the client devices are on VLAN 25 and Airgroup handles their requests, the cache entry eventually times out and is purged from the VC.

Hi! I'm bothering the experts just for a clarification: I recently went solo and I'm setting up my meeting room. I can't have a projector, so I was thinking of getting a tv and hooking up something to wirelessly stream presentations. A client of mine suggested Clickshare, however it's definitely too expensive for me right now. Plus, I really don't need all the features. I just need to stream video feed to the tv:

The dongle bridge program controlling USB functionality is responsible for the implementation of multiple commands used by the USB host to control the dongle's behaviour. The same set of commands is available to both the client software, provided through the USB mass storage interface on the device itself, as well as to the base unit for provisioning the device.

The extracted certificate allowed authentication against the dongle and subsequent issuance of sensitive commands manipulating the dongle configuration. Furthermore, the same certificate was also used to conduct Man-in-the-Middle attacks against connections between client software and the base unit.

The device keeps various mutable content on a separate UBIFS partition mounted under /store during normal operation of the device. The content stored on this partition includes the USB mass storage file system image presented to the client connected via USB.

To prove the concept, a USB mass storage image with crafted contents was written to the file system. The device proceeded to expose this image to the USB host, resulting in crafted contents presented to the client. This allowed exploitation of user's trust towards these devices.

An attacker able to modify the file system image presented by the dongle to the host system is able to plant arbitrary code which will be side-loaded into the client process on start, while preserving the signature of the client binary.

The client makes use of two communication channels, one for control and one for media back haul. Both channels are encrypted: the control channel uses TLS, while the media channel uses symmetric encryption based on the Salsa20 cipher.

This was exploited to prove the concept of media stream interception by a Man-in-the-Middle attacker, resulting in the ability to record and decrypt H.264 streams being presented. The attack was made significantly easier and more practical due to the fact that the Wi-Fi network provided by the base unit does not implement client isolation.

UPDATE : Support for the Linux client has ended as it requires an enormous effort to support all the Linux distributions and their quick updates, while the usage rate of the Linux client was/is very limited.

The environment in question has clients running Windows 10 21H2 with the December 2022 patch level, nothing major that could cause problems. I did immediately think of my German blog post from today, called Killt das Defender Definition Update (1.381.2363.0) Windows bei Verwaltung per Intune, but that turned out to be inaccurate (no Intune or Defender was used, and it seems that the Defender wasn't to blame).

We had a problem with HTML mails in combination with Kerio Connector with the last Outlook365 v2205. (This has since been fixed by Kerio/GFI). That only as a tip in the direction of the MAPI interface.

i have been actively working with Microsoft on this issue as we have 300+ machines a day breaking. and only have a hand full of users. with clickshare installed. It has been a painfull few months. I was just told today about the bug report finally being opened. i am concerned about how it might be deployed since this is a Click-to-run issue.

Great work thank you! We struggle with this problem a few Month already and the only workarround we had was Wipe or re-profiling! We normaly not using clickshare so the API used by some wierd app looks like the plausiblest way to mess with the key for us.
