CLICI stands for Cyan Labs Indexed Color Image, it is objectively worse than png however it has a funny acronym and like cyan labs?? 3ps??!?!?!
click one of the buttons below!
i made this because i wanted to scan 439 ohio from 3ps and get its colormap properly using raycasts n stuff, which, the default preview image in clici tools is a really low resolution render from that, and i wanted to use that colormap to put 439 ohio in ksp but it just kinda spiraled into what if clici and yeah.
i made the formatting itself, its not very compressed and is just a fancy .txt file and is simply way worse than png however it is much better than the prototype, basically, it just kind of uses rgb colors and color indexing to compress a little, so like, if you have a color that shows up a lot you can have it indexed, i dunno if clici paint does that because the clici viewer, clici tools, and clici paint are all made by chatgpt, i dont know html, and this is just for fun.
i DID make the formatting as i said, like, i designed how the file is structured, and i also make a script on roblox that can generate a clici file by scanning an object, and because clici can be converted to png its basically just a fancy way of getting around the fact that i dont have editable images
maybe i'll make a more in depth clici on roblox, like, a clici viewer, and clici paint and such once i get editable images but you will probably have a hard time exporting it if i do that lol
i'm probably still going to make the 439 ohio ksp mod
if you're wondering, no, clici probably wont get updated to be better compressed, use a zip file if you must use clici
i guess the one thing clici has over png and jpeg and such is obscurity, nobody will know what a clici is, so you can send it to someone and they'll be confused, maybe it can become an inside joke in bgs where people sometimes send a clici file but eh, this is probably going to be forgotten sometime soon.
MAYBE i'll make clici 2.0 or some other acronym one day once i figure out better compression tech.
