ClgKart ("we," "us," or "our") operates the ClgKart mobile application. This Privacy Policy describes our policies and procedures on the collection, use, and disclosure of your information in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 (India) and Google Play Store Developer Policies.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide a secure marketplace for students:

• Personal Identification Information: Name, phone number, and delivery address.

• Verification Data: University-issued email addresses and images of Student IDs.

• Logistics Data: Information required for peer-to-peer delivery fulfillment.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is processed based on your explicit consent for the following purposes:

• Identity Verification: To ensure a "students-only" environment.

  • Note: Student ID images are deleted immediately after the validation cycle is complete.

• Transaction Fulfillment: Sharing necessary delivery details (address/phone) between the Buyer and Seller/Courier to complete a handover.

• Safety & Security: To prevent fraud and unauthorized access.

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. Information is shared only as follows:

• Between Users: To facilitate shipping, the Buyer’s delivery address is shared with the Seller once a transaction is initiated.

• Legal Requirements: If required by law or to protect the safety of our community.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

• Temporary Data: Verification images are purged once the account is validated.

• Account Deletion: You have the right to delete your account and all associated personal data at any time.

• How to Delete: You may request data deletion directly through the app settings or by emailing delete@clgkart.app. Upon request, we will remove your personal identifiers from our active databases within the timeframe mandated by the DPDP Act.

5. Protection of Minors

ClgKart is intended for university students.

• If a user is under the age of 18, we require verifiable parental/guardian consent.

• We strictly prohibit behavioral tracking or targeted advertising directed at minors.

6. Security

We implement bank-grade encryption (SSL/TLS) to protect your data during transit and at rest. While we use commercially acceptable security measures, no method of electronic transmission is 100% secure.

7. Grievance Redressal

In accordance with the DPDP Act 2023, we have appointed a Grievance Officer to address your concerns.

• Acknowledgment: Within 48 hours.

• Resolution: Within 30 days.
