In August 2026, Clemson students, under the umbrella of the Department of Performing Arts, will participate in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Located in the heart of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK, the Fringe will present a remarkable opportunity for our students as they create a piece of theatre and travel internationally to perform in the world's largest theatre festival. This trip will take place from August 4 to 16, 2026.
Our students will spend time during the Spring 2026 semester designing, studying, rehearsing, and producing a 60-to 75-minute performance to present at the Festival. During the 2025 Fringe, 62 countries were represented through performance in theatre, music, dance, cirque, street performance and comedy. The 2025 Festival presented its audience with 3,893 distinct productions over the course of the three-week event, totaling 53,942 performances.
This kind of travel and performance is, for many students, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, but it, of course, comes with a price tag. Travel per student is $5,910, and they need your support.
