I am a queer handweaver and garmentmaker based on the forested shores of the Penobscot Bay. I am a traditional craftsperson, which to me means that I am part of a lineage which is fluid, complex, and rooted in the ancient human gift of making beauty in collaboration with nature.
In today's world, traditional craft is being replaced by a manufacturing system built on modern industrial slave labor and environmental destruction. I believe that relearning how to make the items which we rely on for life is an essential step towards creating cultures of resilience, reciprocity, and justice.
I have studied for three years at the Sätergläntan Institute of Craft in Sweden and work mostly within the Scandinavian weaving tradition, but I have deep admiration and respect for all the beautiful and essential textile traditions of the world.
