So happy with my individual training sessions. We have learned to heel really well (he will heel off leash in the back yard, but for his safety I'm not ready to go to the dog park just yet). We will be starting the 30 ft leash training, which will teach him to listen & obey my commands from a distance (soon we'll be at the dog park practicing)! Of course he knows the sit, down, stay commands, along with general obedience behavior. We are working on how to greet friends who come to visit us & when we go to other places, how he is suppose to behave when meeting people & pets in public. I'm so pleased at how much I have learned, & how well he's doing already. I see this as a commitment to the life of my dog & the safety in protecting him during his life with me. Melissa has trained both of our dogs and we couldn’t be happier!! We are so happy with our decision to send our English Shepherd to stay a few weeks and be trained by Melissa. We tried to train him on our own, but realized he was picking up some bad habits quickly! I had stayed in touch with Melissa and knew it was time to let her work her magic. It's amazing what she taught him in just a few short weeks! She not only taught him, but she came to our home and taught us as well, so that we can continue to properly train him here. He's like a different dog altogether. He has manners and he is obedient! Melissa is a miracle worker. Our dog, Freya, is a rescue and was full of anxiety and fear. If you put a leash on her, she would shut down and refuse to do anything. Melissa took Freya home and within 12 hours had her walking on a leash! We now have a confident, loving dog that enjoys going on long walks and snuggle time. She is an excellent trainer not just for the dog but for the owners. She helps you to understand the dog's language to help you help the dog.
