This Privacy Policy explains how ClearScan – PDF Scanner & OCR ("ClearScan", "we", "our", or "the app") handles information when you use our mobile application published by Faisal Usman.
1. Summary
ClearScan – PDF Scanner & OCR is a document scanner. Your scans, PDFs, and settings are stored on your device unless you choose to share or back them up. We do not operate a cloud account system for your documents.
2. Information we process
• Camera & photos — to scan documents and import images from your gallery (not videos).
• Documents you create — scanned pages, PDFs, exports, and file names you enter.
• On-device text recognition (OCR) — optional; processed on your device to make scans searchable.
• App settings — theme, folders, app lock PIN/biometric preferences (stored locally).
• Contacts — only if you use QR/contact features and grant permission.
• Device storage — to save scans, exports, and backups you request.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
ClearScan – PDF Scanner & OCR may show ads through Google AdMob. Google and its partners may collect device identifiers, ad interaction data, and similar information to show and measure ads.

You can limit ad personalization in your Android device settings.
4. Third-party services
• Google ML Kit / Document Scanner — document edge detection and scanning.
• Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) — banner and interstitial advertisements.
These services have their own privacy policies.
5. What we do not do
• We do not sell your personal data.
• We do not upload your scanned documents to our servers by default.
• We do not access your camera, contacts, or storage without your permission.
6. Data retention & deletion
Data stays on your device until you delete it in the app, empty Trash, uninstall the app, or remove files from device storage. You control backups and shares to other apps (email, Drive, etc.).
7. Children
ClearScan – PDF Scanner & OCR is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Security
Optional app lock (PIN/biometric) helps protect access on your device. Keep your device updated and use a strong lock screen.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will change. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
