ClearReadX Privacy Policy
Last Updated: April 26, 2026
ClearReadX ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and
disclosure of information when you use our Chrome Extension.
1. Data Collection & Use
We do not collect any personal data. ClearReadX does not store, transmit, or sell any user information, browsing history, or content extracted from X.com.
2. Data Processing
All content extraction and HTML processing are performed locally on your device. The extension reads the DOM of the active tab (only on supported domains like
x.com and twitter.com) to generate a clean reading view. This data never leaves your browser and is never sent to any external servers.
3. Permissions Justification
* host_permissions (x.com, twitter.com): Required to read the content of the articles you choose to process.
* activeTab / tabs: Required to identify the current URL to ensure the extension only runs on supported sites and to enable the feature upon user interaction.
* storage: Required only to save your local UI preferences (such as selected themes or font sizes).
* sidePanel: Utilized to provide a side-by-side reading interface without obstructing the main tab.
4. Third-Party Disclosure
Since we do not collect, store, or process any data on our own servers, we do not share any information with third parties.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
