ClearPaste ("the extension") is a Chrome extension that cleans and reformats text you paste into it. This policy explains what data the extension does and does not handle.
## What ClearPaste does NOT do
- It does not collect, store, or transmit the text you paste or convert. All text cleaning and formatting happens locally in your browser and never leaves your device.
- It does not track your browsing activity, page visits, clicks, or keystrokes.
- It does not collect your name, email address, location, or any other personal information.
- It does not use analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising services.
- It does not sell or share any data with third parties.
## What ClearPaste does store
- **Pro license status.** If you purchase ClearPaste Pro, the extension stores your license key and activation status locally in your browser using Chrome's `storage` API. This data stays on your device and is not accessible to us.
## What ClearPaste sends over the network
- **License verification only.** When you enter a license key under Settings and click "Activate," the extension sends that key to Gumroad's official license verification API (`api.gumroad.com`) to confirm it corresponds to a valid purchase. This is the only network request the extension makes. We do not operate this API ourselves — it is Gumroad's service, governed by [Gumroad's own privacy policy](https://gumroad.com/privacy).
