ClearThought (“we”, “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the ClearThought mobile application (the “App”).

1. Information We Collect

The App is designed with a local-first philosophy. We do not require account registration and do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, or contact details.

• Audio Recordings: Audio recordings are created only when you explicitly start a recording. These recordings are stored locally on your device. Audio data is temporarily transmitted to a third-party AI service solely for transcription and text processing. We do not store or retain these recordings on our servers.

• Text Content: Text content is generated from your audio recordings. All generated and edited content is stored locally on your device. We do not access, review, or store your notes on external servers.

• Technical Information: The App does not collect device identifiers (such as IDFA or IMEI) for tracking purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

The App uses your data strictly to provide its core functionality:

• Transcribing voice recordings into text.

• Rewriting and structuring text based on your selected format.

• Displaying, editing, and managing content within the App.

Your data is never used for advertising, tracking, profiling, or marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party AI Services

The App uses third-party artificial intelligence services (such as Google Gemini AI) to process audio and generate text output.

• Secure Transmission: Data is transmitted via secure, encrypted channels (HTTPS) for one-time processing only.

• No Retention: Data is processed in real-time and is not retained by us after the session ends.

• Provider Policies: The processing of this data is subject to the third-party provider’s applicable privacy and security policies. We encourage users to review the privacy policies of these providers (e.g., Google Privacy Policy).

4. Data Storage and Security

• Local Storage: All notes and audio recordings are stored locally on your device. We do not operate user databases or cloud storage for user content.

• User Control: You may delete your notes and recordings at any time within the App.

• Device Backups: Please note that if you enable device backups (such as iCloud or iTunes), your locally stored data may be included in those backups, governed by Apple's privacy policy.

• App Deletion: Deleting the App will permanently remove all locally stored data. We cannot recover data once the App is uninstalled.

5. Children’s Privacy

The App is intended for general audiences. If a user is under the age of 13, use of the App must be under the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect or store personal information from children.

6. Your Rights (GDPR/CCPA Compliance)

Because the App does not collect or store personal data on our servers, there is no personal data to access, modify, or delete from our side. You retain full and exclusive control over all content stored on your device.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected within the App or on the App Store listing. Continued use of the App indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
