Privacy Policy — CleanSweep

CleanSweep ("the App") is a duplicate file and contact cleaner for Android. This policy explains what information the App accesses and how it is used.

1. Information We Access

The App requests access to the following on your device:

• Files and Media — to scan for duplicate photos, videos, documents, and junk files. The App reads file names, sizes, and content solely to detect duplicates. File contents are never uploaded, transmitted, or shared.

• Contacts — to scan for duplicate contact entries. Contact names, phone numbers, and email addresses are read only to identify duplicates and merge them locally. This data is never uploaded, transmitted, or shared.

• Storage — to display storage usage statistics and to delete files you select for removal.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to any server.

• We do not have access to your accounts, passwords, or financial information.

• All scanning, duplicate detection, and deletion happens entirely on your device.

3. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and use data to serve personalised ads, including your device's advertising ID. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

You can opt out of personalised ads by visiting Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation on your Android device.

4. Permissions Explained

• READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_MEDIA_VIDEO / READ_MEDIA_AUDIO / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE — required to scan for duplicate files.

• WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE — required to delete files on Android 8 only.

• MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE — optionally used to detect empty folders. You are prompted before this is requested.

• READ_CONTACTS / WRITE_CONTACTS — required to scan for and merge duplicate contacts.

• INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — required by Google AdMob to serve advertisements.

5. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy. The "Last updated" date above will reflect any changes.
