Reusable Bags
Carrying your own reusable tote bag to the grocery store can help reduce the number of plastic bags you use. Buy a few and keep some in the car so you're always prepared for a last minute grocery run!
Don't let plastic bags kill more marine life. Every person can make a difference!
Mesh Fruit Bags
Do you ever notice that fruits, perfectly fine loose, are often packaged in wasteful plastic?
Always remember to buy your fruits and vegetables loose! If you want, you can use special mesh bags to hold them, or just put them into your tote bag. Make sure they don't get squished though!
Reusable Bottles
When you go out, remember to take a reusable bottle with you at all times! Fill it with water (or the drink of your choice :) and stay hydrated.
Don't get caught unprepared and buy a plastic water bottle! Microplastics and plastic chemicals can leach into your water. In fact, a study found that microplastics are present in 93% of bottled water.
Reusable Utensils
Those plastic utensils that you use at restaurants are terrible for the environment. Plastic utensils can last around 400 years! Plus, once they break down, they turn into microplastics that end up in the ocean and our water supplies. 83% of tap water contains microplastics.
"Plastic utensils are made to use an hour, but last forever."
The Clean & Green Initiative is currently in the process of adding merchandise to its website! Stay tuned for updates and giveaway opportunities :)
