We are an American-style, English language Christian school in southern Haiti whose goal is to help parents in the Les Cayes area fulfill their God-given responsibility of educating their children.

Cité Lumière Christian School (CLCS) exists to provide an American-style education in English for the children of MEBSH (Evangelical Baptist Mission of South Haiti) missionaries. As staffing and space allow, CLCS serves other English-speaking students as well. The grades offered each year depend on the student population and the available staff.

CLCS recruits teachers who are certified either through their home countries or the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Teachers raise financial support to cover their living and travel expenses. We recommend they come with one of the Christ-centered, faith-based missions working in this area.

Our student body is made up primarily of missionary children from several nations and children of Haitian nationals in ministry. As space and teachers are available, we accept additional students from the local community.

Cité Lumière Christian School is a multicultural, inter-agency Christian school using American curriculum. The school is located on the Cité Lumière mission center of the Evangelical Baptist Mission of Southern Haiti (MEBSH) located near Haiti’s third largest city, Les Cayes, within sight of the beautiful Caribbean Sea.

CLCS began in the late 1940s as a ministry to the many missionary children on the mission center. For approximately 60 years, the school was able to offer grades 1-8. In 2001 grades 9-12 were added. The grade levels offered each year depend on the availability of staff and the needs of the missionary community.
