The English faculty at CLC want to help you develop into a stronger academic writer and reader, and a successful college student. An ENG 100 placement means that you would benefit from extra instruction and support in order to succeed in college composition and other college classes. In ENG 100, you will work with your ENG 121 instructor and a small group of classmates to achieve College Reading and Writing Readiness (CRWR) WHILE you also work toward credit for ENG 121.
ENG 121: is a 3-credit-hour course required for all degrees and many certificates. This course is transferable to other colleges and universities. ENG 100 is a 2-credit-hour course that does not apply to your degree or transfer.
You will have two hours/week to work on the following:
· reviewing academic reading and writing skills;
· exploring ideas for essays;
· revising and editing drafts of essays;
· improving comprehension while reading college-level texts;
· building college success strategies and habits of mind;
· becoming a more confident college student.
