BOTTOM-TRAWLING SURVEYS IN SICILY (RETE 3 GOLFI)
OTTER-TRAWLERS (Gulf of Castellammare and Catania, Sicily, Italy) - March-September 2023
Monthly surveys on local fishing boats converted to "scientific cruises" for the aim of the project. Bottom-trawling surveys combined with water, sediment and plankton sampling with the help of the fishers themselves.

100 ISLANDS CHALLENGE
ISHIGAKI AND OKINAWA (Ryukyu archipelago, Japan) - September 2022
I joined a team of scientists from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography to conduct surveys of the coral reef in expedition in Ishigaki and Okinawa main island (Japan). The 100 Islands Challenge is a project that aims to describe the variation of coral reefs from across the globe using large imagery and other monitoring technique to track change in time.

AZOREAN BOTTOM LONG-LINE SURVEY (ARQDAÇO)
RESEARCH VESSEL ARQUIPELAGO - June 2021
The spring bottom longline survey (ARQDAÇO) takes place every year since 1994 on board of the research vessel Arquipelago. The aim of these expeditions is to collect:
fishery-independent data on abundance and size composition;
biological information such as growth, parasites, reproduction, migration, and diet;
ecological information on depth range, distribution, and community structure.
