Neuromuscular massage, also known as neuromuscular therapy (NMT), is a specialized form of deep tissue massage that focuses on treating the underlying causes of chronic pain involving the muscular and nervous systems. It targets specific areas of muscle tension, often referred to as trigger points, which are hyper-irritable spots in skeletal muscle that can cause pain, restricted movement, or referred pain in other parts of the body.

The technique involves applying precise, concentrated pressure to these trigger points, along with assessing and correcting factors like posture, biomechanics, and muscle imbalances. By addressing the interaction between the nervous system and muscles, NMT aims to relieve pain, restore muscle function, and promote proper alignment and movement patterns.
