About Me
I was born and raised in Vancouver, Washington. During my junior year of high school I enlisted in the U.S. Army as an Infantryman. After graduating high school I left for Ft. Benning, GA to attend Basic Training. I spent my military career at Joint Base Lewis-McChord with one deployment to Afghanistan. After injuries from deployment limited my options in the military I left the Army as a Sergeant and knew that I wanted to continue to serve in a different way. I have always been a student of history, and I believe that through the study if the past we can obtain perspective and dare I say wisdom to meet the challenges of today. I began teaching at Caldwell High School in Caldwell, Idaho in 2015. I moved to Clarksville, TN in 2019 and began teaching at Northeast Middle School. I returned to Caldwell and Caldwell High School in 2021. Throughout my teaching career I have taught AP World History, AP US History, US History, Global Cultures, Youth Court Leadership, and World History and Geography. I have also been a coach, judge, and coordinator for National History Day. I have a passion for learning and enjoy introducing history to my students.
Education
I graduated cum laude from the College of Idaho with a Bachelor of Arts in History. I am currently working on a Master’s Degree in History with an emphasis on The Constitution and The Early Republic.
