Lawrence Technological University

Corey Bohil is a Psychology professor in LTU's Humanities, Social Sciences, and Communications Department.

He received his Ph.D. in cognitive psychology from the University of Texas at Austin.  After completing a postdoctoral fellowship in the University of Illinois Psychology Department’s quantitative division, he worked as a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Telecommunication, Information Studies & Media at Michigan State University.

His research focuses on cognitive processes underlying decision making and classification, and applied research related to human-technology interaction to improve training and performance.  His work makes use of computational modeling and increasingly emphasizes cognitive neuroscience, including cortical neuroimaging using functional near infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS).

Graduate Students

Shayna Soares

Shayna is a second-year graduate student in the Human Factors & Cognitive Psychology Ph.D. program.  She is interested in categorization and decision making, specifically with a focus on computational modeling and political cognition.  She is also interested in the utilization of neuroimaging techniques in her research - mainly with the Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy System (fNIRS).  Her current work focuses on investigating the Continued Influence Effect (CIE) within the realm of misinformation in Political Cognition.
