The Classical Outreach Conference was founded in 2026 by Darcy Komp, then Chrysophylax & Kerux of HΣΦ ZΛ, as a way to fulfill HΣΦ's goals of developing and promoting interest in the Classics. Inspired by Dr. Robert D. Luginbill's enthusiasm and commitment to the Classics, this conference seeks to encourage people of all ages to learn about the Classical World, including by learning Latin, Ancient Greek, and about the history, art, and culture of the Classical World.
UofL's chapter of Eta Sigma Phi (HΣΦ) is the Zeta Lambda chapter (ZΛ)! Active since 1992, ZΛ seeks to develop and promote interest in classical study among the students and faculty of the University of Louisville through promoting and cultivating closer relationships among students who are interested in classical studies and engaging in efforts to stimulate interest in classical studies and in the history, art, and literature of Ancient Greece and Rome.
While we have not yet announced the theme for next year's conference, our current tentative date is Friday, April 9, 2027. We are always open to hearing from professionals and professors interested in presenting in the future. Please reach out to our conference administrator with questions regarding presenting next year!
