6/4:

Conclusions

We've experienced quite a slice of life in the mystery genre this semester: mysterious murders, a couple of hired assassins, gentlemen thieves, kidnapping, surprising identity revealed, and quite a bit of mayhem. I may be missing a few plots along the way.

We started in the late 1800s with our classic writers--the likes of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who gave the genre its start and its shape. As we've sampled stories in different time periods, I hope you've noticed how the early writers have influenced each generation to come.

By the time we read Best Mystery Stories of 2022, the form and style of our readings looks quite different.

Take a few minutes to reflect on our readings this semester.

We'll discuss the winners and losers of the Agatha Nominations in our Zoom class on Tuesday!
