About FFASA

Free Flight Aeromodelling South Africa (FFASA) acts as the central hub for Free Flight aeromodelling across the country. Our mission is to foster interest in the discipline, support pilots of all skill levels, and organize events that keep the tradition of Free Flight aeromodelling alive and thriving.

FFASA was formally constituted on 18 January 2026, as a  Special Interest Group of the South African Aeromodelling Association. Official Free Flight competition has been absent from the aeromodelling scene in South Africa since the last Ntional Championship in 1989.
