Entrepreneurship is the process of designing, launching, and running a new business. An entrepreneur is a person who organizes and operates a business, taking on greater than normal financial risk.

Entrepreneurs are important for society because they create jobs, create change, give to society and add to national income.

The four types of entrepreneurs are:

1. Small businesses: Anyone who runs their own business. Can have one to a few employees.

2. Scalable startup: Has an innovative value proposition, high growth potential, high margin, and vast distribution potential. These are high risk/high reward. They are designed to be big or die.

3. Large companies: Development of new ideas and opportunities within a large business.

4. Social entrepreneurs: Develop and implement solutions to social, cultural, or environmental issues. This includes non-profits and social enterprises.
