Safe and Sane Fireworks Repeal Referendum

On February 2, 2021 by a vote of 3 to 2 the Clark County Council voted to enact Ordinance 2021-02-02 to repeal the safe and sane fireworks ordinance passed by the Clark County Council in December of 2020. The December 2020 ordinance once in effect would limit sale and use of fireworks in the unincorporated areas of Clark County to only those rated as safe and sane*.

The purpose of this referendum is to allow the voters in Clark County to vote on whether they support a safe and sane fireworks policy in Clark County as originally adopted by the Clark County Council in December of 2020 or if they agree the ordinance should be repealed as the County Council voted on February 2, 2021.

In order for this referendum to go to a vote of the people we must gather 27,702 signatures from registered voters in Clark County and submit them by the close of business on June 23, 2021.

By signing this referendum you are simply supporting our efforts to place this issue on the ballot for a vote of the people.

Any registered voter in Clark County is eligible to sign this petition, whether you live in a city, township or unincorporated area.

This petition and any subsequent vote of the people has no impact on any existing or future ordinance or ban in any incorporated areas of Clark County (For example, City of Vancouver, City of Camas, City of Washougal, City of Battle Ground.)
