1.Introduction
Welcome to Clap to Find My Phone ("we", "our", or "us").
Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how our application ("App") accesses, processes, uses, and protects information when you use our services.
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you acknowledge and agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Permissions and Their Usage
To provide the core functionality of the App and maintain our free service through advertising, certain permissions may be required. We are committed to transparency and explain the purpose of each permission below.
A. Microphone Permission (RECORD_AUDIO)
Purpose:
The microphone permission is required for the "Clap to Find My Phone" feature.
The App uses the microphone to detect specific clap sound patterns. When a matching clap pattern is detected, the App can activate an alert, sound, vibration, or flashlight signal to help you locate your device.
Data Processing:
Audio processing is performed in real time on your device.
We do not:
- Record your conversations.
- Save audio recordings.
- Upload microphone data.
- Share audio information with third parties.
Audio signals are analyzed only for clap detection purposes and are immediately discarded after processing.
B. Foreground Service Permission (FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MICROPHONE)
Purpose:
The App may use a foreground service to allow clap detection to continue when the application is running in the background.
This service ensures that the "Clap to Find My Phone" functionality can operate reliably even when your screen is turned off or you are not actively using the application.
Data Safety:
The foreground service only supports the clap detection feature.
No audio recordings are created, stored, or transmitted during this process.
C. Camera / Flashlight Permission
Purpose:
The camera flash hardware may be used as a flashlight signal when the phone detection alarm is activated.
This permission is only used to control the device flashlight.
We do not capture photos, record videos, or access camera images.
D. Notification Permission
Purpose:
Notification access may be used to ensure that alerts, alarms, and reminders related to the phone-finding feature can function properly.
This allows the App to notify you when the detection service is active.
E. Advertising Identifier (Google Advertising ID)
Purpose:
The App may use Google's Advertising ID (GAID) to support advertising features, including:
- Showing relevant advertisements.
- Measuring advertising performance.
- Understanding campaign effectiveness.
- Supporting app installation attribution.
You can manage or reset your advertising preferences through your Android device settings.
