Is this server Bedrock or Java?
Both! You can join Clan SMP on Bedrock or Java. Any version after the "Caves and Cliffs" update will work! Latest versions supported too!
Is "clans" the same as "factions"?
Is "clans" the same as "factions"?
Sort of. Both let you form teams, but the key difference is that with clans, your land is safe from grief until you actually start a war with another clan.

How do I claim land?
The best method to claim land is to get a golden shovel and click the two opposite corners of your area with it. You can do /buyclaimblocks to get more claim blocks. You can get a golden shovel by clicking the "I'm here to help you get started!" NPC at spawn.

You can set up to three custom home points. When you sleep in a bed, you'll get a 4th free home point called "Bed".
